Those small devices that become a use-and-throw-away without thinking.

And it’s that size does matter — since it’s “small” we think it’s not harmful or at least less harmful, so all those “gadgets” end up either in the trash or in some lost drawer at home.

So this year the invitation is to empty those drawers, and take them to nearby collection points, to recycling centers, also if you have a repair café nearby, a hacklab, a simple curiosity and intention — you can repair, why not try it?…. if you succeed you’ll have had a good time, you’ll have learned and extended the life of your “gadget.”

Don’t forget that at this moment the impact of electronic waste on the planet is greater than that of plastics and continues to grow exponentially.

As much as possible, don’t consume unnecessarily, try to recycle and if not, take everything electronic to a collection point or make sure that the management once its useful life ends is adequate … be very careful because most of the electronic waste ends up being sent to the Global South!!!!

World E-Waste Day is just around the corner, it’s on October 14th.Like all these international days, its goal is to raise awareness about a topic that, despite the great weight it currently has, is barely talked about.
