« From breaking borders to building bridges » Conferencia internacional de mujeres

Between August 4 and 7, Centre Kiné Diop was invited to the conference organized by Women in Exile in Berlin, a self-organized refugee women’s group, which has been working for the empowerment of refugee women for 20 years, took place.

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, they organized an international women’s conference where the Centre Kiné Diop (a project supported by NTL) presented its work as a training center and cooperative initiative in Dalifort, Senegal, run by local women.

The conference brought together 300 women from all continents, with panelists from Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Kenya, Dominican Republic, Iran, Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Senegal, Bolivia to exchange experiences, share knowledge and build networks. The panels were translated into 6 languages, to ensure that everyone could express themselves in their own language and to value diversity.

It was a fruitful and inspiring meeting where we learned a lot and from which we hope to build new projects in the future.
