Premiere of the play Au nom du père, du fils et de JM Weston

The theatre project Au nom du père, du fils et de J.M. Weston (In the name of the father, the son and J.M. Weston) by the company Tsamina wa Kongo is an original play written by Julien M. Bissila, which has already toured extensively internationally, including the Festival d’Avignon, Les Francophonies, Festival dramaturgie en dialogue and Théâtre Tarmac.

The Tsamina wa Kongo company took on the challenge of adapting the play for the first time, with the support of the Grand théâtre national Doudou Ndiaye Rose and the Centre Culturel Régional Blaise Senghor.

On Tuesday 16 April we took part in the Grand Théâtre press conference, where we announced the premiere, which will take place on 24 May at the Grande Salle of the Grand théâtre national Doudou Ndiaye Rose.

This project is a collaborative effort between three countries – Congo, Senegal and Spain – and the organisations Tsamina Wa Kongo, artistic director, Melokaan, director and Nit Tekna Logik, producer.

The idea for this project has been in the mind of its promoter Anael Moïse Nkeoua, aka Prince Art, for several years. The idea is to tackle universal themes such as war and exile, the relationship between two brothers and what it means to return to the place they had to flee. Straddling three countries, with different ways of looking at the facts and different ways of doing things, is the main challenge of this production: to bring to the stage a multicultural perspective on a universal theme.
