Program of the world e-waste day at MFJC

World E-Waste Day is next week. After several months of preparation, we want to share its programme with you.

We would like to highlight several aspects of this day, because we remain faithful to our initial idea: to make this project a transdisciplinary project.

That is why it was important to count on the artistic presence of Prince Art, who presents Le cycle infernal, a reflection on the routes of electronic waste — the external and the internal, the visible and the invisible —. No one escapes them: wherever you are, they will touch you. They are the invisible thread that connects us to electronic waste.

We will also count on the scientific side, so often forgotten, when in fact it provides us with objective knowledge from which we can analyse all those effects and impacts that we imagine electronic waste has. Allying ourselves with science allows us to have enough certainties to establish strategies for preventing the impacts of electronic waste on the environment and health.

And most importantly: we have tried to bring together the entire chain involved in working with electronic waste. They are the true protagonists of the day — recoverers, scrap dealers and repairers who turn the handling of electronic waste into an opportunity.

They are the protagonists to whom we want to give a voice, so that, through their voice, we may learn about the implications of working in the electronic waste sector.
