Digital and project management training for artists and cultural actors – July 2022

From July 4 to 13, the training was held at the Blaise Senghor Regional Cultural Center financed by ACERCA (Spanish cooperation agency training program) which goal was to train artists and cultural agents to promote the formalization and professionalization of the Senegalese cultural sector by improving their skills in project management and online communication.

The training was attended by 24 participants, with multidisciplinary profiles, plastic artists, dancers, rappers, cultural entrepreneurs, students, and belonging not only to the Dakar region but also to Thiés, Mbour and Sokone.

The interactive format of the training allows to adapt the pace of learning to the group and to develop the contents according to their own needs.

During the training, the theoretical basics were explained and put into practice through the development of the essential elements of a project, the storytelling, the website, and in each case exercises were carried out both in groups and individually to reinforce the learning process.

The personal development module emphasizes the need to enhance one’s talents and potential, as well as self-confidence, in order to improve the quality of life and the realization of one’s aspirations and dreams.

An atmosphere of cooperation and exchange has been created among all, which has allowed the beginning of a network of artists and cultural actors whose objective is to solve doubts, share calls and resources around the content of the training.

Practically all the participants belong to associations or are part of cultural enterprises, which has a direct impact on their own structures as they can either share knowledge or carry out the contents taught and thus strengthen the Senegalese cultural sector.
