Encounters at La ville en mouv’ment

In this edition, NTL had the opportunity to take part in the La ville en mouv’ment events organised by the choreographer and dancer Fatou Cissé, and to collaborate with Momar Ndiaye( choreographer) and Macieck Lasserre(musician). The aim of the collaboration was to create a piece that, through the choreography and the dancers’ bodies, would make us reflect on the impact of electronic waste on the food chain.
The challenge is to use physical gestures to establish a vocabulary that invites the creation of a narrative exploring the relationship between the body and technology.

Furthermore, La ville en mouv’ment aims to bring art out onto the streets, which is why the first event was held in the Ouakam neighbourhood—a former fishing district that still retains some of its traditional urban layout, with narrow streets and courtyards linking the houses around a tree that serves as a meeting point.

I would like to thank Fatou, Momar and Macieck for giving me the opportunity to take part in such an enriching process, which reaffirms the importance of using art as a tool for reflection.
